In July I posted a quilt top I finished. Today I finished the binding after doing some echo quilting on the quilt earlier this week. So with great pride I will post the pics.

Actually, DD was going to throw away the material from the valance in her family room. [They bought the house and hated all the wallpaper and curtains.] So I talked her into washing it and then, if it was still good, I could take it home. Well that material will outlive me, I think! Anyway, I had plenty so tried a pattern from the Stack-n-Whack*apedia book by Bethany Reynolds.

It is really one of the prettiest quilts I have ever made and, backed with a soft denim, is the most snuggley too! Thanks for looking and for all your encouragement in this new technique!

I used the original material for the binding.

The "Stack and Whacks" really are fun to do,I liked the way you put yours together. Nice job.

You were really on the right track with the "throw away". Sure looks as if this was purchaesd just for this quilt. Great Job!

I just love it !! What a terrific story to be able to tell about the fabric. What came to mind as I read it was Scarlett O'Hara recycling the green drapes into a new dress.. you could call it "Tara" .. LOL !!
