Default First attempt at making a patchwork quilt

Hi
I've finished Birdie Box Quilt. I've never made a quilt before. I wanted it to look like the home made patchwork bed throws we had as children, 50 years ago. It probably needs a bit more quilting, but 'Less is more' and I may get carried away and overdo it. Be gentle with me. Top has the larger squares. I patchworked top and bottom. Hides a multitude of sins.

All I saw was that wonderful bird and bird house fabric! I think you did a fantastic job for the first quilt and they say practice makes perfect, so don't stop now and have fun with what you make! I agree that "less is more" when it comes to quilting and did the same thing on my first few. I'm just now beginning to get a bit more adventurous after nearly a year with lots of practicing on sandwich scraps.

I love your fabrics and the unusual pattern of blocks. Nice job.
