Default First stab at a Totally Tubular quilt -- FUNKY!

From Totally Tubular by Rita Hutchins, this design really caught my eye. I just wanted to try out her technique, and not spend anything on new fabric, so I picked out these fabrics from my stash. I thought my theme might be something about a road in the forest, but half way thru, I was sitting on our porch and the lawn mower was sitting in the yard. It dawned on me the colors in this quilt are exactly those of the John Deere mower. Now I can't get that out of my mind every time I look at it! So maybe it will be "The Road to John Deere's House"!

At any rate, the tubular technique is fascinating. It's also a bit ... harrowing? After you spend all this time sewing strips together into tubes and cutting them and sewing them back together in different ways, you end up with a rectangle. Then you just slash it into 2 parts at a weird angle. Sew those 2 parts back together a certain way... then slash it again and reassemble. It was scary!

So, I really like what I ended up with. Any suggestions for how to quilt?
