what a great idea! I picked up a couple of rolls of upholstery fabric I fell in love with at a "going out of business" sale a few years ago, and that would be a great thing to do with it. I've got almost no carpeting in the house, and finding area rugs the right size/color has been very hard.

The best part - the fabric is already scotchguard treated.

    Thanks again,

You have made some people very happy with your response, including myself. Now I still have another couple of questions, did you use your domestic sewing machine to put these together, and can you tell me the width of binding you utilized, and was it from upholstery fabric as well, also what type of thread did you use. Thanking you in advance.

Thank you Donna and thanks ladies ! You made me happy too. Yes I use my domestic sewing machine, I have (JANOME Memory Craft 6500). The binding is 2 1/2 " wide and it is from the same fabric as well. The type of thread that I use is Gunhold 100% polyester and for the bobbin I use 100% cotton. Happy sewing!!!!!!
