I have been working on this blue jean quilt off and on for about a month or so. It's coming along, still have to finish quilting it to the backing flannel and clip the seams so it rags.

Front, not sure how big it is as I havent measured it yet.

close up look. All the pockets are useable and I cut out parts and "patched" them with scrappy fabrics.

Made from a pair of my daughters overall shorts. The only waste was the ver bottom seamed hem. That made the new seam too bulky, so I cut it off. The crotch part of the shorts was used as inside pockets. I tried to get a picture of the inside but it was too dark to see. It's not finished yet.

The rag jean quilts are a lot of fun to make. No real worries about seams matching and all that but after it gets so big, it does tend to get a bit heavy and bulky.

I did not use a batting layer, just the jeans and flannel. It's still a bit heavy. This will have to be washed by itself, just because of the weight, but I have a heavy duty washer that should be able to handle it without any trouble. It probably weighs about the same as 3 or 4 pair of jeans.
