Frameless Finish !

Frameless Finish !
It is official ! I have finished my first large quilt since going frameless !
Finished size came out to be 60 x 60 pre washing, so I am sure it will be a tad smaller afterwards but all in all I am pleased with the size.
I am OVERLY thrilled with how the center block turned out. I did the center block totally in quilting with threads to mimic the outer blocks. I wish now that I had used a darker yellow to make it stand out more, but that is just added to my lessons learned.
With as many sharp points and angles as this quilt had, I really wanted to use the ” almost circular ” spaces to bring some curves into the quilting, and I really think design fills the space without being overpowering.
I used my freezer paper template method for these and you can see there are still some small specks of freezer paper, but experience has proven to me that these will come right out in the wash, and since I used washable marker for drawing on the freezer paper, that will not even show later either !
I had originally planned on having a 2 inch border of this floral print on the outside but decided I preferred it as a binding instead, and just trimmed my batting and backing, and folded the border fabric in half and turned to bind ! I am glad I did. It looks so much nicer without a border !
Since we do not have a washer and dryer , this will hit the laundromat when I go do our regular laundry next week.Overall I am so pleased with myself, and with my quilting on the table vs the frame. It is a decision I really do not regret !
So Quilt # 48 – Missing The Point is finished and will be all ready to be delivered in time !
