I wonder about this. My earliest memories of color (I can go waaaaay back) are the soft tertiary tones that were popular in the 50s. Bright colors were startling, which supports the brain-stimulus theory, but not in a good way. Maybe sleeping-area colors should be soothing and activity areas bright and stimulating?
