Cool! My husband did some of that printing (but on paper) when he took an ichthyology course in college. Widh he'd done it on fabric...

What did you use for ink/paint?

We practiced that technique in a quilt guild meeting, but with fake fish (rubber). Mine came out just awful! Yours is cool, very well done.

This was my very first piece! So I used Parker fountain pen ink for the black fish. Then the coloured fish I used diluted screen printing paint. My brother Andrew caught the Queen Snapper and saved it for me. I keep it in my freezer for over 5 months now, and am still printing with her. Bless her soul! I'm thinking that I need a 'thickener' for the ink. It was a bit runny. I am just amazed at the detailing of the scales and fins! I've done more pillows! My other brother Alan also has a charter fishing boat and he wanted them on board!

How cool is that?!?! I love it and would love to learn the technique. Very unique and how appropriate for your brother's charter boat! You may get a few commissioned jobs on that.
