My grandaughter wanted a poodle skirt for retro days at school this week.
We found the pattern in Costumes! Does that make some of us feel old???
Anyway, it turned out pretty good. Thought I'd share with you all.

Poodle Skirt --black polyester felt. I think it would wash ok but she probably won't need to do so.

Oh how I remember wearing my Poodle Skirt. Along with a hot pink (Glowie fuzzy sweater) bobby socks and white buck shoes or black and white saddle shoes. THOSE WERE the good days, even though we didn't think so.

Yeah, well true I'm confused just a confused guy, but why is it called a poodle skirt if there's a cat on it?

Because the original poodle skirts all had poodles on them. The pattern we got had 7 or 8 patterns for different animals, so Mariah chose the cat. Guess I could have called it a "cat Skirt", but we "oldsters" all knew that a poodle skirt was a circle of felt with an applique on it. Now you've had your history lesson for the day.
