    Lynnie, the widest part of these stars is 13-1/2" unfinished. The pattern on the freebie I cut from a bit more than 4" wide pieces to give me room to cut an even edge, and the longest measurement was 7-3/4"I have ordered a template online, it has lines to make smaller sizes, I think it was 1 to 5 inches.

    And yes, nativetexan, they were sewed in rows. Went together rather quickly after all the half blocks were up on the design wall.

    Like the idea of half stars and half diamond background. Where did you get pattern and template?

    Oh, bias is not that bad! I don't hesitate to do piecing because it's a bias edge... The world has more than just squares and strips...
