    Default Hexy Stars

Thumbing through a magazine in the library, I saw an ad for a free pattern and printed it out when I got home. I just put in Hexy Stars and it came up. Had to register to print it, but so far no ads coming my way. LOL. If I do another one, I will pay more attention to the darks and lights of the small triangles, to make them all stand out more. But I was pleased with the overall effect and it did get rid of some of the bigger scraps, which is always a big plus!

How nice to get to use up scraps and try something new. I love learning from every quilt I make and consider each one as practice for my next one! One of these days I hope to make a quilt with stars too.

I get a little compulsive when I find something new, and wanted to see what all scrappy diamonds with same backgrounds for all would look. Ok, gotta go, I'm off to cut scrappy diamonds and brown check triangles! I'll make all the half blocks and then match as I want them to be positioned.
