Default Hunters Star with owl applique

Used fabric Summer Breeze III layer cake and created this Hunters Star quilt. Threw in an applique piece with an owl on a lemon tree branch for fun. If you have ever watched the TV show Modern Family, you'll be familiar with Phil's "Dunphy-ism" of "When Life gives you lemonade, make lemons and Life will be all, like, Whaaat?!" Notice the owl is not saying "Who". Quilt is for a coworker of mine and this saying is a running joke between us. Was fun to work on it especially this winter. The fabric was very cheery! Yellow flannel with white polka dots was used for backing.

A very happy and fresh looking quilt. Nice that you incorporated "your" private joke into it - very personalised.

I am rather tired of Hunters Star quilts but this one is so different, has such interesting color placements, and with that bunny in the middle....well, it's just really great!! Good job!

Disclaimer: This is my personal preference/antipathy against Hunters Star quilts, and in no way suggests your HS quilt is deficient or unattractive!! Maybe it's just that 2 color quilts aren't my thing right now. Maybe it's that I like color so well that I want to see lots of many colors when I 'like' a quilt. I'm sure YOURS is just lovely, so don't be defensive because I happen to be a grump about them. It'll probably pass!

Blues & yellows are among my favorite color pairings and your quilt is so pretty! Enjoyed seeing it!
