I would do a triangular border keeping the points in the same direction as the apex of each of the star tips. Then perhaps a striped border to frame it, then a larger border of beautiful quilting with stone plates at each of the corners. Finally I would do a smaller star border and finish with the binding depending on how large you want it to be. Just some thoughts...., Therese

Very pretty. I made a lone star that had an outer border of sawtooth star blocks alternated with a plain block. The sawtooths were made of each of the colors used in the lonestar. It worked well and does not take the focus from the center star at all. Here is a picture to give you an idea.

I would keep it very simple and cut strips of all the fabrics and make a piano keys border big enough to finish it out. It would keep with the colors of your quilt and not take anything from the central design. Piano keys are a wonderful finish to most designs. There.. but not drawing focus..

Do you have enough of the print fabric from the first quilt to make a wide border on the second. It would look less obvious that you were just trying to make it bigger and be a lot easier than piecing more borders. Both are spectacular.
