poly, 100 gram (I suppose that means 3 oz.) but am not sure 100 gram for what measure...so I can't compare. It is relatively thin poly batting, but about the thickest I can comfortably actually quilt.
I've tried quilting 150 gram poly batting and it is almost impossible although 120 grams I can quilt. 200 grams is really only usable for tying--at least with my machines and skill level.

It was actually the way around. I went to my stash after I made the quilt and auditioned two possible fabrics. Of that one, I only had about 32", I made the border only that wide. If I had had more, I would have made it a bit wider. I love that border. I don't know where I got it, but I think it was the Hospice Thrift store in New Port Richey, FL. I found a bunch of quilt shop quality fabric there last year.
