Really gorgeous! I love the slightly puffy look to it too. And your right it does have that modern feel to it.

Love the puffiness! I haven't made a puffy one yet, what batting did you use?

Fabulous quilt! I wish I were that lucky recipient! WHERE did you find that beautiful border fabric? It looks like you managed to choose all your squares to go beautifully with that!

poly, 100 gram (I suppose that means 3 oz.) but am not sure 100 gram for what measure...so I can't compare. It is relatively thin poly batting, but about the thickest I can comfortably actually quilt.

I've tried quilting 150 gram poly batting and it is almost impossible although 120 grams I can quilt. 200 grams is really only usable for tying--at least with my machines and skill level.

It was actually the way around. I went to my stash after I made the quilt and auditioned two possible fabrics. Of that one, I only had about 32", I made the border only that wide. If I had had more, I would have made it a bit wider. I love that border. I don't know where I got it, but I think it was the Hospice Thrift store in New Port Richey, FL. I found a bunch of quilt shop quality fabric there last year.

You're really generous on top of being talented! I love this bright, cozy quilt. Great fabric choices and I can't believe you chose that great border AFTER not before the rest of it!

Someone is going to be very happy taking this home. Reminds me of a stained glass window, very pretty.
