It needs a little work and a few parts replaced, but even so I am very excited.

It is a Singer treadle. I think it's a 66 model manufactured around 1935 in Clydebank Scotland.

Can't wait to pick it up. I plan to use it for dual purpose; a sewing machine and for decoration.

    Here's a sneak preview.

    My latest find.

My Grandmother had a similar one. Although it had been converted to an electric model. I have fond memories of it. I've wanted a treadle for so long - but they can be expensive, and very difficult to collect due to travelling distance, and the treadles weight.

After some recent discussions on this board, and after doing my research I was able to "realize the dream". :)

It ended out being a local online purchase. Very excited.

Sounds like obtaining a treadle in New Zealand is just as it is here in Western Australia, expensive and hard to find.

I am pleased you managed to find such a nice example, and in way better condition than any I have seen recently. Hope you have many happy hours with your treadle.
