Default Helped A friend make her first quilt - "Excellent Adventure"

One of our dear friends that we only get to see once every 8-10 years got to come spend a few days with us. While here, she decided she wanted to give making a quilt a go. Looked through a few of my books - found a pattern for Quarter Cake (Or Quarter Square Cake) from the Layer Cake Recipe book.
Looked thru some precuts, decided on a layer cake of Moda's seascape collection. Yesterday, we did some basic skills then I helped her do some marking, some of the block piecing, a lot of the pressing, she did the cutting, layout, sewed the rows, joined the rows, sewed the borders on. Today we went to my Mom's LAQ shop and in a jointly combined effort, quilted the top - Mom gave her a tutorial on attaching binding but ended up doing it as Deb was in overload! Deb had a lot of info thrown at her the last two days in selecting fabrics, patterns, cutting techniques, sewing / layout / assembly, quilting, labeling, binding, whew!
This is her and her first quilt! I think she did a great job! AND She's hooked! Knows absolutely now that she can do this! Look how proud she is!
Thanks for looking!
