Well, I suppose you are right. It is both techniques.

I have some left over fabrics that I really like, and just want to incorporate them into a quilt project. So you are correct, in that I will piece them together to make the right size to fit another piece of fabric. Then I get those pieced fabrics long enough to be a row (actually I make two rows because my back is pieced too). Then I add the long row of batting, sew the seam, then flip the row sandwich over, allowing me to do a little quilting on the whole row at one time. Then do the same thing for the next row sandwich.

Thanks, and I understand it did fit their bed, which I wasn't sure about.

I use Kaye Wood's six hour quilt technique, but I do not use a serger.

I think it turned out just fine. I think scrappies are supposed to be a way you use up extra blocks and material that you would normally not be able to use. This one is perfect.

Wow. I can't believe you did a quilt as you go king. For me, that method takes too long. Congrats on your fun quilt and your patience.

Great Quilt! I love the scrappy busy in the middle and the outside rows that bring your eye the length of the quilt. I'm sure they love it!
