The last of the CW fabrics for the quilt that hasn't been started yet

Dear barnbum, I just love the one with the "pinkish" stripe. I looks more peachy next to the maroons and other colors. I really think it will add interest to the piece. And yes, it is manish. They like color, too. Great choices.

You MUST be a teacher. I know what you mean about those meetings before the session begins. I am a retired teacher (mostly first grade). Had 33 years under my hat when I retired. I miss some parts of it -- mostly the children and the co-workers. Now I have time (ha-ha) to quilt. That is, when I'm not "helping out" somewhere. Have a GREAT YEAR ! What do you teach?

Thanks! Gail--I teach 5th graders--and LOVE it. My class this year is so sweet--we're having a great time together. It's a tricky schedule with teaching straight from 10-1 on 3/5 days--but they are doing well. I'm moving them around a lot--from partner work to small groups and from desks to the Cozy Corner to keep them from getting sleepy/bored. It's going to be a fabulous year. :D :D :D
Thanks for the thumbs up on the pinkish stripe. I showed hubby both the choices and he said he doesn't know which he would have picked! Whew!

Please pardon my ignorance; why are you doing the 3/5 days? By 10 - 1 you mean that the students are in class only from 10 to 1?
My last year of teaching was a heart-breaker. I had the sweetest little class of first graders. I had to stop at Christmastime because of illness. They kept in touch with me by writing letters, etc. They're seniors this year. How time flies!!

Gail--sorry for the confusion... school is 5 days a week from 8:35-3:15, I was referring to the schedule with speicals and lunch/recess. For two days we have our special at 10:05-10:50, and lunch/recess is at 1:05-2:05. But on 3 out of 5 days, the special is at 9:15-10:00, so that means we have 10-1 straight in the room--which can be hard on 10 year olds at first. After a week they'll be fine.
