It's official. My Husband hasn't a clue about quilting! I just showed him the "flag" I just completed and he said, "It's a flag". I told him yes it is and I just made it. I took it over to him so he could see it better and he said the stars are all messed up! Yes dear. Never mind. I will no longer look to him for approval of my quilts! This is what the half finished top looks like. I now have to cut it in strips top to bottom and sew it together. It is from a pattern that I got at the Fort Worth quilt show. "Fratured Flag" by Cross Mountain Stitchery. MEN!!!!

just wait until it's all done to show him next time- i have found most men really LOVE quilts -- when they are quilts-
when they are still in the works it is more difficult to (see) what you are doing- and it's not just men---many many women are the same- and worse. I've had women look at a quilt in progress and say---well, it's all raggy - i'd just throw that away---then some time later see the completed quilt and not even believe it is what they first saw--they still (don't get it) i have a friend who regularly tells me---wouldn't it be easier to just go to Penneys?
non-quilters are all alike regardless of gender :)
    we can only educate them-
and hold back our projects until they are complete-meaning quilted and bound :)

My brother never fails to remind me how dumb it is to cut up fabric just to sew it together again....but he did like the quilt I made him!

That's going to be really neat when you're done, please post a finished product photo. It's true others don't always have the same vision we do for our projects. Enjoy your process and just show him when you've finished :)
