Lesson in Patience
#4
Wow...absolutely fantastic Shadow, he must have 'pots' of patience to catch it in action, how many pictures did he actually take to manage to get a good one????
Last year I was sitting hand sewing under the covered terrace and this little leaf cutter bee kept buzzing around me...then I realised it was laying eggs down the centre of my lamp (the end was missing) so...I set myself up and eventually managed to catch it....here she is....

Wow amazing photos. To this day my husband, who is fast approaching 40, has never seen a hummingbird in person (real life). We put up a hummingbird feeder, but they never came. :(
We had a similiar thing as the bee happen to my daughter's crib, we had one of those leaf cutting bees (flying bugs?) taking leaves into the support springs of dd's crib (before she was born). I suppose we're not "nice" because I had dh wait until the bug was done and seal up all the holes. No more bug trouble since....

Wow, what patience!!! Catching a hummer holding still long enough for a photo is an extraordinary feat!!!!
When we were living in Florida, I bought a hummingbird feeder and a shepherd's crook to hang it from; daughter was skeptical about the actual existence of hummingbirds. I said, "If we hang it, they will come."
We spent many happy hours watching the hummingbirds feed and swoop about the yard . . sometimes as many as four at a time at the feeder.
Aren't they wonderful?!?!

OMG!! I LOVE HUMMINGBIRDS!!
Miss them so much! When we lived in GA, I would be out in the front yard tending to my flowers and had a feeder in the tree. The people who lived at the other end of the 4plex I lived in also had a feeder. There would be hummingbirds flying back and forth to each feeder. Sounded sometimes like a swarm of bees with their wings. They never seemed to be bothered by me doing my gardening. Bill did get a picture of me there with the birds in the feeder above my head. I need to find that picture. Heck, that was 11 years ago. Wonder where it is? Hmm......
