A little sample to try out my new sewing machine, so fun!
I tried out piecing on my new Bernina, all I can say is WOW, the old machine I was using was so difficult compared to this...easy to make the 1/4 seams. I had to use a scrap to start the stitching, or buy a straight stitch piecing plate - didn't know about this when I bought the machine! I am used to it now, not a big deal. My quilt sample came out square, unlike my past projects. The whole time I was sewing I kept thinking, I can get used to this!!!
I hated to cover up the back side...so nice and neat, no threads either. I am putting off FMQ on it because I don't want to screw it up.
The sample is square, in this picture it is placed on a pillow shape and it looks funny.

I love my Bernina as well, although since I had both hips replaced (June & July), I haven't done any sewing. Seems I lost my motivation. I've read on this board that others sometimes have the same problem (maybe not after hip surgery!!). That is a beautiful block, by the way, with the purples and the greens.
