Thought these colors were good for a Lonestar. (black, white & dark burgundy)
but didn't think ahead to what color fabric to use to square it up!!

ANY suggestions and/or photos of fabric idea are welcome.

I've tried all the fabrics I currently have in stock and nothing looks good.

I would go with a small print, with black, burgundy and maybe another color, but a light background, nothing too dark. Then you could pick up the third color in one of the borders. Just my 2 cents!

Some shade of gray?

It's a six-pointed star - so it will have different angles than the eight-pointed stars.

Are you planning to make this into a four-sided or six-sided quilt?

I was also thinking of a gray small print with burgandy in it.

I suggest a gray. And definitely take it with you to the quilt shop. It will be easier to pick just the right print and shade.

To rectangle it up -

the side triangles will have 30, 30, and 120 degree angles

the four sided "corner" pieces will have 90, 90, 60, and 120 degree angles.

How about a yellow? I think it would bring out the colors.
