Default In loving memory of my Dad. Quilted Star.

After a long illness with Willie Body and melanoma, we lost my Dad on 2/7/2015. In his loving memory, I made Christmas gifts .. quilted stars out of one of his shirts and pants. I have made a total of 7 so far (1 for Mom, 1 for me and 5 for my siblings). This is totally my design.

I made it using the paper piecing method. On the front center, I placed a button from his pants. On the back, I sewed on a belt loop so the star could be hung if wanted. Also, I made a label for the back and printed on fabric. It is about 8" tall....small enough to be used in a myriad of ways.

Everyone absolutely LOVED them!! I was pleased with how they turned out. I plan to make some for his grandchildren.

If I hadn't read your title first and just saw the first picture, I would have thought it's a Christmas ornament! What a wonderful way to give everybody a keepsake from your dad!
