Mariner's Compass for FIL - Update Pics of finished top Page 4

well, sort of.
My father in law asked me yesterday to make a quilt for his mother, who was recently placed in a home and is having a little bit of trouble adjusting.
She now has a single bed, and her old bedding does not fit in the new room. Her room at her house was in blues and greens, and I was asked to come up with a design that had a mariner's compass in the colours that she had before, to make her feel more comfortable. Anyway, so I started this morning, and I have the center done.
I am basing the rest of the quilt sort of on this design:

and this is what I have so far, I just thought I would share my progress as I go along.

Yes, it's paper pieced (even though my seams don't match up that well, don't look too close!). I have a Mariner's compass book, and they show you how to draft your patterns for pp.
Thanks everyone for the compliments. I'm taking a bit of a break right now because I have a headache, but I'll be jumping back into it as soon as this Tylenol kicks in :)
