Tessagin - it wasn't really the whole town, but it was a several block area. You can't see any of the damage when you just drive by on the highway.
I do know several people who lost their homes, my former boss's inlaws among them. Fortunately his mother (who has become blind) was in a different care facility in Waco, not the one in West.
Misty was in the apartments across the street and is really lucky to be alive. And her son escaped injury entirely. If some of her deep cuts had been a fraction of an inch one way or the other. . .

that is wonderful. our quilt guild donated a bunch of quilts to west. i just drove through there sunday. what a mess still. so many houses so many lives messed up. but there a lot of people working hard.
