I made this twin size quilt for my aunt's 80th birthday. She lives in an assisted living home and gets lonely at times. My quilt started with the pic of janice4 who made a quilt hanging for her mother. At the same time, natalieg was selling happy birthday fabric and I excitedly purchased it. My aunt enjoyed the quilt and I am happy with the way it turned out

Let me guess. Are there 80 'layers' in the cake? That is such a clever idea and I know she loved it. I would bet other ladies at the assisted living center enjoyed it as well. Great job.

Your quilt came together in wonderful ways and you did an excellent job. Am thinking of modifying it for my mother's birthday!

thanks for your concern-thankfully in our part of central wisconsin, we were not affected, but saddly about an hour north of us, the area was hit hard with building damage, luckily, not human hurt
