I used the Playtex gloves and had no problem.

Lovely fabrics but I always worry that hand dyed fabrics would bleed because I did something wrong.

I dye cotton jersey yardage for sewing clothing. I read somewhere that instead of endless rinsing, to let the item soak in a bucket or a sink for 24 hrs. This allows the excess dyes to migrate out of the fabric into the water. I have found that once a fabric is rinsed, washed in warm water and detergent, then dried, the dyes are fast. With proper use of soda ash, I have not experienced bleeding after the initial washing.

I dyed some fabrics back when I lived in Florida with a couple other gals. I still have some of the fabrics I'd dyed. Still have a bolt of the special fabric we used too. I kept the fabric and they kept the dyes so would have to order the dyes again if I decided to try my hand at it again. It was fun though.

Looks like you had a good time doing this. Do you have any patterns or projects in mind for these pieces?
