I dye cotton jersey yardage for sewing clothing. I read somewhere that instead of endless rinsing, to let the item soak in a bucket or a sink for 24 hrs. This allows the excess dyes to migrate out of the fabric into the water. I have found that once a fabric is rinsed, washed in warm water and detergent, then dried, the dyes are fast. With proper use of soda ash, I have not experienced bleeding after the initial washing.
