Well done! A rotary cutter will help with cutting straight and it is so much easier than using scissors.

I too learned alot on my 1st 2 quilts, Attic Window Pattern, saw a pic, cut my own pattern and used 1/2 inch instead of 1/4 inch seams, learned about sharp peak corners... AND I too cut each peice with sissors, and not sew sharp ones.

Great work on your first quilt you should be proud your points match and I really like the backing on it. Remember you don't iron you press there really is a difference, sometimes just doing that can cause your blocks to get wonky. You have a good eye for color too, enjoy the ride it only gets better with time. Good luck Tom!
