Halloween quilt - at least it's done
I've been in a quilting funk, having difficulty starting a new project. Finally I grabbed the blocks that I got several years ago from a BOM - twelve 12-inch blocks made by other people, several using the same block design, all having a Halloween theme or fall colors. I didn't really want a Halloween quilt, I didn't like those blocks, and they didn't go together all that well, so I had been putting off making anything with them. But I needed to get something started to get over my funk, so I added a few other leftover blocks with fall colors to come up with a 4x4 layout and just sewed them together, then quilted them on the longarm. I'm still not a fan of this quilt - but at least it's done. And as one friend said when looking at an ugly quilt at a quilt show, "bless her heart, she finished it."

What a great way to use up those orphan blocks. Someone special will come along and just drool over it and then you can gift it to them. I like your creativity, looks like a planned scrappy quilt !! I really love your quilting especially with those diagonal lines.

I think you did a great job putting the blocks together so they "make sense". Your quilting really enhances the blocks. Job well done -- and isn't it nice to know it is done and you don't have to think about what you are going to do with it!

You got out of your funk, hooray! I know I too can get into a funk every so ofter. Thanks goodness they don't last forever. Here's to continued quilting success as the holidays come our way. Lately, I've been listening to holiday music while I work on quilting gifts to keep me motivated to finish them.
