    My paternal grandma lived to be 100 years old and was sewing up until the very end of her life.

    She had seven children who had numerous offspring and she made a quilt for everyone of them.

    My daughter was a g-grandchild and was lucky enough to get a quilt too.

    I've been collecting pictures of the quilts from all my cousins and hope to have a collection to share with the family once it's completed.

    She used every kind of fabric imaginable - polyesters, knits - it didn't matter. She just loved to quilt....and she quilted everything by hand...didn't use the sewing machine.

    Here are a couple pics of some of the "colorful" beauties

    What a lovely tribute that will be to your DGM. And what a beautiful job she did by hand. I have NO talent for hand sewing, and am in awe of anyone who can sew so beautifully.
