Wink My Mom's Dresdon

Some of you know I lost my Mom last year to Alzheimer's. My Dad and I have had some trouble letting go as she was so full of life. So to help in my grief and my Dad's, I made a pillow for him. I printed out on photo fabric my Dad's favorite picture of my Mom with her beautiful smile. Then I took one of her mother's dresdon plates she had made from old clothing. My dear Grandma has been gone for almost 50 yrs now. I put them together like a picture I found in a quilt magazine. I left all the top stich threads Grandma had on the plate I just couldn't cut them off as they were Grandma's. My DGD wrote the words on and I quilted them on. Well after Dad and I finished crying when I gave it to him, He enjoyed it the whole time we were at my DD's house. I think it helped us both. I hope you enjoy seeing my project and my Mother with that incredible smile of hers. Thanks for looking!

Your pillow is precious, and your mom is beautiful. I am sorry for your and your dad's loss. I lost my mother last year. It is still so hard. I miss her so much. Your mother does have a beautiful smile.
