Several people have asked about my avatar which I changed recently for the 9/11 anniversary. It is called Wave Salute, and I found the pattern in the June/July 2009 "Quilt" magazine, their issue #101. It's a Drunkard's Path pattern which is great to give the waving effect. It was one of the first quilts I made and probably my favorite so far.

I was pretty new when I made it, so I pinned all the curves. Since then, I've seen several you tube videos about how to easily sew them without pinning. I wouldn't hesitate to try it again, tho.

Love it, very nice, I stuck to straight seams when I began. LOL Still haven't done a drunkards path, but I have done curved seams.
