Scrappy Log cabin quilt - aka - Playing with the Trash II
#1
I was bound and determined to use up my scraps this summer/fall. Ha! I'm sure you all know that scraps, when stirred, fluff up and multiply! Yep! They're like wire clothes hangers that multiply in the dark. I'm positive.
I was cutting the scraps into strips of various widths and squares of various sizes. They're ready to use.
Today I have a log cabin made totally from my scrap basket except for the back and binding. I pulled the strips from the 1.5" strip drawer. Pretty cool! I am now working on a postage stamp quilt using the 2" squares. I am also still cutting up scraps!!!

Thank you!
I was also going to tell you that when I washed that quilt I tossed in a couple of dye catchers with it. Oh, those babies are worth their weight in gold! Both dye catchers came out RED!! and yet, look at the white on that quilt. Still white. Am I lucky or what! (No, I don't prewash my fabric! No patience for washing, drying and ironing before I can cut and sew!)
So, if you have a quilt with fabric that might fade, I really do recommend using the dye magnets! Oh, yes!!
