need help regarding this quilt

Stunning and welcome to the forum. I would like the notes to appear in the correct facing direction but they could be askew. Maybe getting smaller as they rise toward Heaven? Is there a music teacher you could ask at a local school? Try Google-ing music swirl on the internet or something to see if any pictures are found.

I agree with the thought of not using the exact musical notes. I would just get the jest or feel of visual music. The links kiffie2413 should be helpful in your making a decision. Your work is amazing. Keep us posted. Welcome to the Quilting Board.

Thank you so much for all your kind words! and for the suggestions, this is what I want to do on the night sky and the opening is placed vertically allowing the notes to flow from the piano around to the center.
The fabric is used has all been embellished with Shiva paint, the stone wall fabric for example started with very small splatters of dots.....the hands and face are muslin and painted as well. the only fabric I haven't done anything with is the sky....but the clef will be stitched gold thread and the notes will be painted on...... thank you for the links and for the resizr site.... I do think like n2scraplvr that for those musically inclined it will make sense to them!
I'll post when I finish it.
If they are swirling, they can swirl back and forth and around in any direction ... so then you could get them all the right direction as they reach the sky.)
What you have done so far is outstanding. I'll bet he'll be thrilled beyond words.

I love your quilt! I'm not sure it needs notes--sorry to be in the minority. I can hear them already--don't need the visual. I think they might distract from the warmth and beauty of the figure playing.
