Talking Not sure of the name of this

I am making this for my daughter in law. She wanted black white and red so. I'm not sure of the name of the block, but I like it.

I really like your fabric combination, but I have not seen the pattern before - it is sort of a 1/4 snowball block. It is the beginnings of a beautiful quilt.
