    I did not have a pattern, but it is just HSTs. I think I started with 5 1/2" squares, marked diagonal and sewed 1/4" each side of the diagonal, then cut and trimmed for 4 1/2" HSTs. This is my preferred method for making HSTs, but you can use whatever method you like. I just laid them out on my design wall until I liked the pattern. It really is much more simple than it looks.
