Mrs Mel, a pantograph is a continuous line drawing on a long piece of paper. I follow mine with a laser light. Here is an example for you.

OK, Thank you Jackie. I have seen a lady using them in a local quilt shop but didn't know what they were called. I would like to try it when I gain a little more experience.
