Default The Ones That Got Away!

My father who is 77yrs old is an avid hunter, but also loves nature. He and my Stepmom have a cottage on a beautiful lake, which they spend much of their time. Anyway, Christmas is coming and of course, no idea of what to get them...they have everything they need or want. I had not made them a quilt in the 11yrs they have been married, so, I thought, this is the year. This a Pam Bono design called Fly Away, and the material is all from my stash (Fabric Moritorium). I began this quilt around the 23rd of Nov'11 and today, I finished putting on the binding. I have never made soooooooo many flying geese, and just FYI, it will be a while before I do any more(LOL). Last count was 512 flying geese blocks. The quilt is a whopping 103"x102" , so that is alot of flying geese. I realize the pictures are not as good as usual (can you tell I took them and not my DH) but thankyou for looking.

Beautiful! I have that book, and I've admired that quilt. Yours came out really great.

Great quilt! A friend of mine made one from this pattern, all by hand! You did a wonderful job on yours.
