I have two double scrappy quilts that my great grandmother made. They are over 100 years old. Both of them have
scalloped edges, just like your quilt. Both are scrappy and are both bound with red fabric......hand quilted (of course)
There are a few places where the fabric pieces are thin. The binding has to be replaced, it is very worn. I plan to fix them and pass them on to my daughters.

I think the first is 54/40 or fight and the second is the DWR. Beautiful quilts.

My Mother could cut, piece and quilt a d-wedd-ring in 1 wk. She did some with the scallopped edge and some she filled in the area so the edge would be streight.
