What a wonderful treasure to find and share with your family. You're right, we should label our quilts. I figured I'd remember, but it's like writing down milestones in your children's lives, you can't remember everything. It's easy to forget, thanks for the reminder.

Sometimes what the quilt is for ... b'day, welcome to the family, etc. Some people will put the name of the quilt pattern / block used and name of the designer if it applies. I think about doing it when it comes to making my label I forget that part.

A label could / should be like a story, it will have more meaning and if the quilt lasts a long time, it might end up in a museum.
How on earth does one fit all that information on a label? I don't have the money or equipment to make fancy labels like that, and I don't find writing on fabric with those fabric pens very easy nor very clear and neat.
