Another Quilt Done

One of the ladies from my church told me Sunday that one of her friends wanted to bring a quilt top and see about getting me to quilt it. It was an improved nine patch. She selected the pattern she wanted me to do it in and opted for the fluffy look with a poly batting. Not an easy undertaking on the long arm. I think it turned out pretty good. I only had one goof up. One row was a little closer than it should have been. Don't know how that happened unless I accidently moved the laser. I warned her up front that I was just learning. And, I am only charging her $50.00. Would you say that was a fair price? I used a shade of orange thread to compliment the rust colored fabric and to show up on the back. What do you think?

I think you did a fantastic job quilting this quilt. The quilt pattern is really interesting and I think the quilter did a wonderful job on the top! It reminds me of vintage quilt tops.

Both of you have done a great job!! :)

I think she is very lucky to get it quilted for $50. You did an excellent job!

I agree that both you and person that pieced it did a wonderful job. I have no idea what the going rate for quilting is, but that seems very reasonable. Donna

You are showing progress at every post! Your thread choice was perfect. Yes $50.00 was a very fair price( not sure of the size) . I would have been doing the happy dance to have quilting done for that price.

Love your quilting pattern, great job. My grandmother made a improved 9 patch many years ago, I'm in my 60's & she died when I was 20.

terrific job by the quilter and the piecer!
|
Very nice job. pretty top.

It's beautiful! You were kind to work with the fluffy batting! My long-arm quilter won't use it because it doesn't play well with her long arm machine. Someday I want a fluffy quilt though! You did a fabulous job!!
