Batik Dresden Plate - Made this for my brother
6 Attachment(s)
I just got this back from the Maggie, a member of CAMEO Guild who does professional quilting. The quilting is done all free-hand. This is the second Dresden Plate that I have done. I think this is one of my favorite patterns.
I still need to do the binding, put on a hanging sleeve, and make a label. Although, I do need to name the quilt. Any suggestions for the name? "Beautiful Dresden Plate". That is the name of it. I just love it. So bright and beautiful.
beautiful job.
That is about the most beautiful dresden plate quilt I have seen. The quilting on it is wonderful, too! You both did a great job!
"Hello Gorgeous" describes it perfectly. Just outstanding.
That reminds me of garden flowers, pinwheels, and wind. It is gorgous. I name in something like Garden Spinners, or Spinning in the Wind. No matter what you call it, it is beautiful. A rose by any other name smells just as sweet.
"Shades of Dresden" would be appropriate. I love it! I just had a customer ask me for a bright quilt for their log cabin in TN. Boy does this fit the bill!

You did a wonderful job, and the quilting is amazing!
Great job, you've made a beautiful quilt and Maggie has done a great job with the quilting. I love dresden plates too.
I think you should name it "Possum Trot Plates" and send it to me :)
Wow - I am breathless (perhaps that could be the name). I love it.
I think I may be your long lost sister (one can hope). :) |
Beautiful...great job both of you :)
"Twirling Plates of Beauty" .......................and it sure is!!! A gorgeous quilt - beautiful selection of fabrics and the quilting is fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
If I had made one as pretty as that, they would be having to put me in cement shoes to keep me earthbound. That is just gorgeous and what a different way to set the border (at least to me). I like the centers overlapping the sashing. Wow, wow, wow!
Very nice!!! I love it!!
I love your quilt. And the quilting is awesome...beautiful
Absolutely beautiful and the quilting is gorgeous. Maybe it could be "Twirling Petals".
That is beautiful!
Beautiful,Beautiful!!!!

I suppose "outrangously gorgeous" wouldn't be a good name but it sure describes it.
This is so beautiful the quilting is amazing and the colors you used are beautiful..Love the Dresden plate have never seen in batiks:)
So very pretty!
Well ... Dresden "Plates" in all different colors reminds me of Fiesta dinnerware. So how about ...
Fiesta Plates Senor Fiesta (I can't do the little squiggle above the n) Batik Fiesta Cotton Fiesta I like Senor Fiesta the best, say's a guy made it. |
At first I thought that the plates were quilted with circles and then at a closer look I saw that the fabrics for the plates are stripes. Your color choices are just beautiful. I love everything about it.
That's breathtaking. Your work and color choices are incredible and the quilting is amazing. I absolutely love it. You can always call it Redquilter's quilt and send it to me! :)
What a beautiful quilt and quilting. You did a great job on it, adding the applique really adds so much. Agree with you that the dresden is such a cool pattern with so many ways to finish it.

Beautiful! I wish I could call it "mine!" It looks like raw silk! I've been threatening to do a Dresden Plate for years and I'm inspired constantly when I see ones as beautiful as yours!
What a beautiful Dresdan Plate. The fabric is great. The quilting really goes with the quilt design.
