This is my first hand quilting attempt and I am loving it. Doing the big stitch method, giving it a primitive look. The fabrics are posting much brighter than they are. Actual colors are more like a slate blue, brick red and cream.

What are you using for thread? For that primitive look of bigger stiches I always use Candle Wicking yarn, curious what you use.

i love big stitch handquilting, its the only handquilting i do everything else is done by machine

I use lots of different things including 10 wt. crochet thread, $5 from Walmart for a HUGE ball, with which I've just finished quilting a candlewicked quilt for a customer. Your stitches look nice and even, which is the goal to strive for. It'll be so pretty!! Jan in VA |
