I just finished a quilt for a friend who is expecting a new grandbaby. The mom is decorating in "camo", and she asked me if I could come up with something. So here was my idea. She loved it. I used the scraps to make some burp cloths to match. I got the pattern at http://www.quilterscache.com/T/TumblingBlocksBlock.html

Oops, I forgot to attach the photos. The front is flannel. The back is a matching cream color cotton.
It was made from flannel, and quilting it was my demon! Talk about arthritis!!! I even put prairie points on the edge. Baby Gracie is "catching" the demons that live under quilts. |
What a clever quilt! I love tumbling blocks. You paper pieced the entire thing? The new mom will be so thrilled!

That is a unique way to use the camo. I don't think i have seen one as pretty as that, what if they can't find the baby in all the camo?????????????

This is a wonderful use of the fabric and your imagine. My hat is off to you! :)
I have copied the pattern link. This would be one paper-pieced pattern I would try. I have a sampler quilt in mind as a long term goal to use up part of my stash. Thanks for sharing your work, SaraVincent. Piecefully yours, Kay Susan |
