Chicken on kitchen towel
1 Attachment(s)
My Mother was 102 when she died this past Summer. I took one of her well used kitchen towels and painted the chicken on it. It was thread bare and even had a hole. I put another fabric behind it. It is for my Niece who was so good about coming to visit her Grandmother and bringing her children along while Grandma was in the nursing home for 2 1/2 months. Karen is going to have brick red accents in her kitchen and her Grandma had a red wall in the kitchen behind the stove. The little wallhanging will be a good memory for Karen.
I saw DeLoa quilt these chickens free hand and then paint them in later. She is amazing. Acrylic fabric paints were used on mine. I quilted after I painted. This is just the opposite of DeLoa's procedure. The chicken just makes me smile.. |
