This will be a small wall hanging for my mother-in-law. She asked me to make her one, and I found the perfect wine fabric over the summer. (They make wine and are Italian.) We had picked another pattern, but she just gave me the dimensions she needs: about 20" x 40" so I'm thinking a log cabin design is better for that size. I'm going to do 3 squares with 7" centers, and I'll do 4 1" (finished) logs around each side. If I add a 3" border it'll be 39" by 17". I didn't have a light picked for the other pattern...so I pulled these three and can't decide which looks better.
I sent these to her too.... but what's your take? I have no idea what order the photos will post in, so I'll just say pick #1,2 or 3. :D UPDATE FROM BELOW: the gold on the left side will be taken out, in case that helps your decision! Thanks!! |
I think you posted the same picture 3 times or am I going blind?? LOL
|
sewjoyce--look at the fabric on the right. The ones on the left are definites. :D
|
I like them all, but the last one I think is best.

I like #3. Love the wine fabric!
|
Duh -- sorry -- I am going blind --
I pick #2!! But hey, don't listen to me   8) 8) |
Hubby picked the third too.
I goofed up my measurements--it would have made a 15" square, not an 11" one! Back to my graft paper. |
I think I like #3, but if you think it is too much "gold" or she is not as fond of gold, go with #2.
|
Okay--the square has to be smaller. 12" will work, so I'll do a 6" center (fussy cut) with finished 1" strips, but I can't only fit 3 rows on each side, not 4. So, I'll take that gold on the left out! Then the color all of you like won't clash at all!
:D Yes?? :D |
Love the gold--really makes it pop!
