Farmer's Wife - Work in Progress

I'm about halfway through with my blocks. I'm using Marti Michell's templates. I may need to re-do some as some came out a really small size, but we'll see when I get closer and get them all trimmed and sized. Laying them out helps me to see what colors I need to use :)

Looks great, so far. Maybe you can sash the ones that came out too small and bring them up to size. Just a thought. I love your color choices. Please show us your finished project. Thanks for sharing.

I'm really liking yours!!

PokerDiva 07-22-2012 01:15 PM

i really like yours. It is so colorful. I did mine in civil war fabrics. Not a lot of color.

Sandra in Minnesota 07-22-2012 03:09 PM

Lots of hard work, but it's going to be wonderful!

Your colors remind me of my FW mom's aprons. Can't wait to see it finished. Still working on mine. Check out the FWS threads in Blocks of the Month. Here's the completed quilt thread.

Nicely done Tutt ...
To go along with OKSGlad's link to the completed FWS quilts, here's links to the weekly threads for each of the pairs of blocks. Perhaps you'd like to join us?

thanks i never thought to do it as scrappy

It's looks really nice, the ones that are too small could be worked with adding sashing or a pieced sashing

Oh, I'd love to see yours, too! I love Civil War fabrics anyway & paired with FW blocks, I'm sure it's fabulous!

Me neither but if you think about it, back in the day, that's how they would've done it. These blocks are just beautiful! This is going to be stunning!!!

nabobw 07-23-2012 05:09 AM

That is what I was going to suggest. It's going to be a great quilt.

I think they are great. I have got about 66 of them done and I'm doing double so it will take me a while yet. I love yours.

WOW! It looks wonderful! Nice job! :)

Looks like a ton of work and a lot of fun. I would wait until you have all your blocks made, then make a decision about framing/sashing them--or using some for your borders.

jennygrit 10-18-2012 09:02 AM
