Right about the time I was on maternity leave, my boss "decided" to take early retirement. After my son was born, I became a stay-at-home mom, only working one day a week. But, my former boss and I still talk, at the very least, once a week. He was going through his things at home, knows I'm a quilter, and offered some of his grandmother's quilts to me. He is an only child, no cousins, no children. I felt kind of bad taking hiss family heirlooms, but he said it makes him happy to know that the quilts will be used and loved. Here is the one that he gave me so far! I feel so lucky.

What a special gift!! He must think very highly of you!

Cool! What a lovely former boss/friend. Don't feel guilty. I can imagine the relief he probably feels knowing his gran's work is appreciated.

I must be tired because at first I thought there was a rip in the quilt but once my eyes focused I realized it was a cat. LOL!! It is a very nice quilt and awefully nice of him to offer it to you.

Oh my gosh I'd be thrilled to pieces. I know lots of people that have heirlom quilts and wouldn't dream of sharing them. He is a special friend! That is so wonderful!

That is so wonderful for both of you. My husband has recieved some planes for woodworking from a man in a similar position. He just wants to know his dad's stuff is loved and taken care of and not just sold to the highest bidder.

What a beautiful gift! Lovely!
